After Grooveshark made the announcement that they were revamping their website to include support for HTML5 streaming a number of Windows Phone users sighed in dismay as they navigated to the new site only to find out that it wasn’t working on IE9 on Windows Phone because of an AJAX issue.

Microsoft’s Ben Riga (Windows Phone) and Eric Lawrence (Internet Explorer) answered the call and were able to work with Grooveshark to help get the site working on Windows Phones, so now if you navigate over to html5.grooveshark.com everything should be working splendidly.

Of course, a web app isn’t as good as a standalone app for this sort of task, but the music does play under the lockscreen and use the built-in playback controls, so we’ll take what we can get for now. It’s great to see Microsoft and Grooveshark take such quick action to help Windows Phone users get their music fix.
